Meet the Wave NY Team

Meet the Wave Studios New York team, from runners to senior engineers!

Allison Worth - Runner

Hometown - St. Louis, Missouri

Favorite part about working at Wave - the team!

Allison Worth is new to both NYC and to Wave Studios. She loves every aspect of sound, especially sci-fi and fantasy sound design, and she has a background in podcast production & sound design for film. When she’s not shopping for records or working on her podcast, They Made It Out of Clay, Allison can be found taking photos at her local comic con, teaching at her synagogue, or catching one of her favorite pop punk bands on tour.

Xander Zooi - Runner/Transfer Engineer

Hometown - Los Angeles, California

Xander Zooi is one of the newest faces here at Wave Studios. With a background in music production, film scoring, and potato skin peeling, Xander aims to become one of the top engineers in the post-production world. You can catch him on the weekends scuba diving in the Hudson, catching squirrels, and making sweet sweet tunes.

Austin Ferreira - Transfer Engineer

Hometown - Hampton Bays, Long Island

Favorite part about working at Wave - Big projects, small office vibes

Austin Ferreira has been with Wave for over two years now. He is our full time transfer engineer and resident barista/bartender. He’s been working in audio since the age of 13 and has a deep passion for music & sound design. His eclectic music taste ranges from hardcore death metal and rap to smooth jazz, funk, and bossa nova. Austin’s favorite topics of conversation include music, philosophy, existentialism, good food, and why everything is so damn expensive in this city. On the weekends he enjoys surfing, making music, and drinking a lethal dose of coffee.

Eleni Giannopoulos - Producer

Hometown - South Kingston, Rhode Island

Favorite part about working at Wave - The wallpaper

Eleni Giannopoulos is one of Wave’s resident producers. Catch her hanging out in the common space, leaving a trail of sticky notes wherever she goes. As a child, she couldn’t stand people changing the channel when commercials came on, and she went on to study advertising out of spite. She loves ginger ale, the Home Depot, and bats (the animal). In her spare time, she practices playing her theremin. She’s also currently growing 11 hot pepper plants and will give you a Carolina Reaper if you ask.

Isaac Matus - Sound Engineer/Designer

Hometown - Bogotá, Colombia

Favorite part about working at Wave - Whenever I get to work on abstract/musical sound design & my relationship with my coworkers

Isaac Matus is a sound designer, music producer and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. He started at Wave as a runner in November 2018. Then, he became a transfer engineer and now he will be taking over our third room - currently under construction. Rumors say he moved up thanks to his bangin’ pesto - that, and his passion for trippy/abstract sound design. Isaac is involved in various musical projects, most of them under his stage name Matük. Since late 2018, he’s been playing guitar and handling electronic production in the band KUYE. Since the start of his solo projects as Matük in 2018, he has released 2 EP’s, 6 singles, and 5 remixes.

Chris Afzal - Senior Sound Engineer

Hometown - Baltimore, Maryland

Chris Afzal is one of Wave’s senior Sound Designers & Mixers, and holds the undisputed title around the office for snazziest dresser. He’s been with Wave NY since the doors first opened in 2018 and has over 20 years’ experience in the ad industry. He’s always had a passion for music; he spent some time touring with a band and then later attended New York’s University’s Master’s program in Music Technology. Now, his dedication to cool sound design is only rivaled by his dedication to drinking straight espresso throughout the day. Ask him for a good whiskey recommendation, or about his fascination for mechanical watches!

Favorite part about working at Wave - I get to learn British slang (Fuck’s sake!)

Vicky Ferraro - Executive Producer

Hometown - Hawthorne, New York

Say hello to the woman behind the curtain! Vicky Ferraro is the Executive producer here at Wave, keeping everyone sane and making sure operations run smoothly. With an advertising background of 25 years, she joined Wave in 2018 to help open the NY office. She’s responsible for production, marketing, sales, and most of the peanut butter consumption in the office. Outside of work she serves on the board of a non-profit to help mothers in need, and has built homes around the world for Habitat For Humanity. Don’t be fooled by her warm fuzzy heart though, she’s also got a love of horror - she’s an avid listener of grisly true crime podcasts and the office go-to for scary movie recs. Her other (less bone chilling) favorite things include biking, oysters, vodka sodas, and wigs.

Favorite part about working at Wave - The amount of laughter I have during the day

Aaron Reynolds - Partner/ECD and Senior Sound Engineer

Hometown - Battle, UK

Last but not least, say hello to Aaron Reynolds, partner/ECD of Wave NY and award-winning Sound Designer & Mixer extraordinaire! Aaron’s been with Wave since the very start, back when the London office first opened in 1999 and moved to the States to open our NY office in 2018. He started as a runner and then moved up to become a star engineer. Audio isn’t his only killer talent! He also forged his very own sword, called Blister, which now hangs on the wall of Studio 2. He’s a fan of fine dark chocolate, and around the office he’s done absolutely nothing to smash the stereotype that Brits love tea. On the weekends find him tearing it up on the tennis courts.
