Matus Making Music!

Wave NY’s Isaac Matus isn’t only talented in sound design and mixing, he’s also an accomplished musician! Isaac came to NYC via Boston, armed with a Music Production and Sound Design degree from Berklee, and quickly jumped into the music scene – he’s currently juggling 4 different bands/projects them under his stage name Matük (@ma.tuk). He spends his weekends and night releasing music and DJing with the psychedelic electronic music label and collective, ‘Acacia Baileyana’ (@acaciabaila) When he’s not doing that, catch him performing with KUYE (@kuyemusic). They’re characterized as a “modern roots” band that fuses rock in Spanish with tropical music borrowing influences from Colombian and Sudanese music. Additionally, he plays modular synthesizer for the afro-Latin jazz band, ‘Que Xopa Collective’, led by Grammy nominated trombonist Xito Lovell (@xitol07). And as a solo artist, he’s released 2 EP’s, 5 remixes, and 6 singles.

With this background, he brings a unique perspective to what we do as he’s not only a brilliant composer, but also an expert in editing music and creating musical sound design with an organic approach. He’s an excellent addition to our roster and brings his own creative flair to our talented team.
